Has anyone else tried this?

Someone sent me a fileboom link in my PM. When I click the link, it opens FB in a new window and shows Free Download @ 150Kb/s.

I click Free Download, solve the capcha and the counter rolls down from 30. Use this link within 5 minutes.

I click the link and save the file and the DL speed is 30Kb/s This happened twice. Of course I had to wait out the time between downloads at this point.

I copied the FB URL and waited a day. I pasted the URL and it shows Free Download @ 50Kb/s. I go theough the motions and it downloads @ 50Kb/s.

I'm wondering if the 150Kb/s gets voided because the page win which the link was clicked on is not publicly accessible and gets voided because FB can't determine the source page of the link click?

I tried to be as concise as possible but there was no easier way I could explain it

You only get 150Kb/s if FB detects that the link has been clicked on a PlanetSuzy page. If it showed 150Kb/s it must have been posted here. Try asking whoever sent you the link to give you the PS page link instead.

The link was not posted on a PS page. It was a gift sent to me via PS Private Messaging.

by clicking on the link in your PS PM you send the planetsuzy url as a referer and so you got the 150KB/s bonus.
The same is working for k2s and filejoker. Using the referer on filejoker give you 120KB/s and a much shorter waiting time between 2 downloads (the 1-3 minute countdown remains)

If you want to have the 150 KB/bonus, paste the k2s link in whatever quick reply box and click on "go advanced". The next page will show a link which will contain the Psuzy referer, so you will *normally* get the extra speed, even if the link comes from another source

Yeah OK bonus 150 k is fine and everything but what about 30kp/s problem?

Lately all k2s files I am downloading is in 30kp/s. it used to be a constant 150kps download experience. Naturally I cancel and go for other filehosts.

And no those links are not PS pages but from other sites. Haven't dloaded anything with k2s from PS for quite a while now.

Any ideas?

30k is K2S's normal speed for anonymous users. Uploaders can, I believe, set it a little higher but most don't. There are hints here how to make non-PS links run at 150.

OK, GeffG is k2s rep if i am not mistaken and he says the 150kbs speed if i get the link from PS.org and you say there are ways to run a non-PS.org links at 150kbs as well. What am I missing here?

tried this a number of times and still tops out at 50 KB/sec for me.
