Downloaded some old pride videos, and amount of bout fixing made me sad. But to watch those superstars young was beautiful at same time. Lately I watched Wanderley against some japanese dude. Sad to watch stopagge.

Glad you liked the Munkhbat Urantsetseg vid. I was watching a few more and I think the one below is even better. The first few subs are spectacular. She does this crazy move which I don't have a name for. Sort of like an inverted/reversed omoplata, or maybe it's more like a kimura using her legs rather than her arms to manipulate her opponents arm and shoulder. Never seen anyone do that before in MMA or BJJ. Love it.

For anyone interested in that "crazy move" I referred to in my post above - I managed to find out that it's called a "Huizinga Roll". It's a shoulder lock named after Dutch olympic judo champion Mark Huizinga. I even managed to find a YouTube tutorial.

OK!!! So it looks like I was wrong in my predictions about when the UFC would come back.

And the health statment from the UFC website....

UFC events scheduled for May 9, May 13, and May 16 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida will be fully sanctioned by the Florida State Boxing Commission and will comply with all of the regulations governing professional MMA events. We have worked closely with our medical staff and state and local officials, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry, and Florida State Boxing Commission Executive Director Patrick Cunningham, to ensure the appropriate health and safety protocols are in place.

Pursuant to a request from the Florida State Boxing Commission, these events will be closed to the public and will be produced with only essential personnel in attendance. All athletes and staff will be required to adhere to a number of precautionary measures, such as participating in advanced medical screenings and temperature checks and following social distancing guidelines.

So Ferguson v Gathje, not as good as Ferguson v Khabib - but very interesting nonetheless. The rest of the card is pretty stacked.

Yep - I want Tony to win as well. The Khabib fight gotta happen. Quite like Gathje - but I'm more of a Ferguson fan.

For what it's worth I think Tony will win. (I've probably put the nail in his coffin having said that given my record with predictions ).

He couldn't care less about his fighters he just's wants the $$$$$$
And he knows the fighters who are probably living over their budget need to make money so he's got them by the balls.

I doubt he will even be there, or if he is, he will be in some sort of mask and gloves, to make sure he doesn't get the virus. Hell he will probably make a UFC mask and say they are for sale for a special price for a shot time.

If you follow Pat Miletich on twitter you'll know he is a Conspiracy believer and he feels that this whole Virus thing is fake. I think he's been hit in the head one too many times and his brains are scrambled.

One or two more thoughts on tonight's matches.

Now I kind of like Justin Gaethje and I really don't wish him any harm but one of these days when he goes up to that top bar to jump backwards off it...something bad is gonna happen! He might slip off it while trying to stand up or land wrong and fuck-up his feet or legs....think about it, he does this after the fight is done when he's a little tired and all sweat, not a good condition to be in to try and back-flip off the top of the cage.

Next ....Greg Hardy is just a thug Bitch and has no real skills in the cage, he has just physically run over his opponents and I think he's been a bit lucky too in his wins. I just want to see him get a beat down.

Cejudo will dominate the old motor mouth Domnick Cruz.

Neither Pettis or Cerrone should be fighting, I think their time in the cage should be over, having said that I just love watching Cerrone and his overall attitude.

Looked like exactly what you described happened after the Tony Ferguson fight. He slipped and had to adjust, ending up outside the cage.
But what a tremendous performance by Gaethje, absolutely demolishing Tony to the point where Ferguson was out on his legs. Tony ate so many punches I kinda wish he would have gone down earlier, but he showed remarkable toughness. Wonder what the implications of this result are for the future of the lightweight division, it has to be Gaethje vs. Khabib now, no? Interesting times ahead, but man, the division is loaded.

Many people were not happy with the stoppage of the Cejudo/Cruz fight. In my opinion, it was justified, because the Cejudo's knee had hurt Cruz badly and while he was not really out, Cruz did nothing to protect himself and ate multiple clean shots to the head. It was not a clear case for a stoppage, but Cruz has no ground to complain really... he had taken 13 (I think that's what I counted, excluding the knee) shots to the head without really protecting himself, that is a tough spot for any referee after the devastating knee initiated the sequence.
And then... Cejudo retires in the ring. Good for him if it is not a gig to make money, he had a great career and leaves on a high note after a great performance.

Hard to watch. Throughout UFC history fighters taking this type of beating never returned the same... 1st on my mind JDS vs Cain 2, 3...

Next time Tony start receiving 1/2 of this punishment his brain will be: "Fuck this shit again, I'm switching off!!". I hope he will be OK. CSO.

It looks like Tony vs. Khabib will be the one of fights that never happened. GSP vs Silva, Rousey vs Cyborg.....

Francis look scary, but better striker would probably KO him if he would strike this openly, chin in the air and all. In this case he just had 0 respect for Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Stipe would just duck down, take him down and destroy him.
