I was trying to download some old Filefactory files and the file that it always tries to download is their "download manager" even when I have the "download file download manager" box unchecked. I'm not going to install their software, so is there any way to get FF files any more?

ETA, never mind. It has something to do with Opera. In Chome I was able to download the avi instead of the exe no problem.

The post in that quote was made when file factory were being over run by those looking to earn cash way back in early / mid 2012

They've since removed their cash rewards program so their a totally different host

Maybe their not as fast as free users want but their one of the few long term hosts 2005- left about which still have files posted years ago that are alive.

File longevity should never be under estimated in the current climate of filehost decimation.

Dont forget any host thats paying cash is actively being hunted

I'll be using FF as mirror well before I head to the favoured cash hosts of the day who have a life expectancy of 1-2 years if their lucky.

File factory (free to premium host)

File retention before being deleted for inactivity
- 90 days for a free registered user - up to 400mb
- looks like you cant upload with them anonymously

As a free user I usually get decent speed. It's not nearly as good as DF or NL, but I don't mind them. RG is way worse in my opinion.

Has anyone noticed how disturbingly long Filefactory is making it before free users can download multiple files recently? It used to be that you could download a file, wait 5 minutes, and then download another file on Filefactory.

Now after I download a small file (less than 100 MB in size), it tells me that I have to wait 2 hours and 43 min. for my next download. This is ridiculous. I hope this trend reverses itself. Thanks.
