Achieved an entry into a prize drawing at work today. Worked my ass off for that entry; here's hoping I win!

I always have family that can visit for Thanksgiving, but can not visit again at Christmas. So I always put up the Christmas Lights before Thanksgiving so that the family can see them whichever holiday they manage to visit.
I got the first 250 lights up today. That leaves 9750 to go. In three weeks? Hope I get good weather. |

My graphics driver updated without issue. Last time I tried to update it, it went into a crash loop, forcing me to boot into safe mode and go through the whole restore point / rollback driver bullshit.

Forgive me Planetarians, for I have neglected this thread. It has been one month since my last con --- I mean, update.
Since my last update, I have replaced the highest light in the backyard. It is located at the very top of the ladder plus stretch with all you've got. We've lived here 23 years and this is the third time I've had to replace this light. The light on the other end of the back of the house is much lower, and I've only had to replace it once. One good thing that came out of replacing the light, was a good warmup for hanging the Christmas lights, which are not nearly as high as the back spotlight. Did I say spotlight? Yes, I installed these lights when we moved in. The local tennis courts are like, "shit, why do we not have lights that good?" Christmas lights, over 9000 now, with the last 900 hopefully going up Monday. I have three windows to finish. The neighborhood contest is judged on the 23rd and I've been in the top 3 for all 23 years. Did I mention we've lived here 23 years? Things break. I've replaced the hardware on three doors in the last three weeks. Not a difficult task, but falls within this thread's sense of accomplishment. Did I mention things break? The last four weeks I've either worked on or replaced the guts on two different toilets. You would think with all this time, I would have completed the garage cleaning project, and I would be back to parking in it by now. I'm close. I've donated another six boxes. At this point, I could make it happen if I just man up and do it. Sales from the garage and attic have been slow. However, I've made some small sales recently, and I've listed a new set of items. Between donations and sales, I've cleared two shelves in the attic, and hope to use that space to free up the garage. My Elves have completed their work and I have 59 of 65 gifts wrapped to load on the sleigh on the big night. Again, I should complete this wrapping on Monday, a rare day off in this season. If you don't hear from me for a while, I'll be checking bulbs and working my Elven ass off. |

Forgot to mention... lost 60 pounds in the last 16 months. No tricks, just rigors of my job, I guess...

Funny thing is, I've modified several of my setups to fit directly into the outside light sockets and are operated with the wall switches.
