I use 1fichier or MEGA, because I like to give and share what I can. And also, because, I've dealt with limitations of DepositFiles and other Hosts for many years, prior to being a regular member and a Mod here.
So I know how frustrating it is, to some people, to being limited to a dial-up 50kbps download speed just to download a 2-3 GB file, that most of he time won't even complete, or takes just WAY too much time.

Granted. I'm not a regular PATM/GP poster. But if I was a regular poster in those sections, I would've also provided 1fichier/MEGA links as well, as long as they're still Allowed in this forum.

i was on dialup until last spring. trust me, no one is getting 50k on dialup!

i got 4.2k, max. and usually more like 2.5k-3.5k.

but yes, i agree with your overall point. most hosts pin free users at slow speeds like 50k or even less. not DepositFiles, tho -- that's one of the FASTEST! i sometimes see 100k or more there (now that i'm on wifi), while others are chugging away at 28k.

i would never attempt a 2-3G file, even now. 800-900k about the limit; anything larger i need to switch to something resumable, i.e., t0rr3nts. hopeless on an "all or nothing" host.

dialup days my limit was around 90M. (3.5k/s x 3600s/hr x 7-8 hrs).

If i was admin i would reduce the Search Limit for PATM sections 30 seconds to 15 sec for each search.

This Admin can't see your change happening unless we move to a different platform, and even then I wouldn't guarantee it, I suspect Forum Size would remain an issue for performing searches whatever forum software we use.

I would limit the number of responses per user in a picture-thread (Glamour / Social Media / Celebs / Supermodels) to one per day.

Why?

There's a certain user who's spamming these threads with multiple one-pic-posts every day, only to gain more likes. Why not post them all in one single post? It's becoming more and more a pain in the ass to watch these threads....
