I think they will get through.

Unlucky Australia. ''Xavi dropped, who ever thought we would hear those words''? says Rio Ferdinand. Amen to that. Thierry Henry says after playing at the top season after season and challenging for trophies season after season. One day your body just doesn't work like it used to any more.Yes, damn old age! Diego Costa picked the wrong country, they are all agreeing on that. Maybe he comes out, scores a hat trick and shuts them all up.I can see their point of view after watching the two Brazil games and the Spain vs Holland game. ''Tiki Taka isn't dead, we just played shit'' fair point. We will find out soon enough. |

Yeah, you can see why Sergio Busquets hasn't scored an international goal before. I'm sure it is hard to get excited as a Spain fan when you see Fernando Torres getting ready to come on. His record at tournaments isn't bad, but that is when the team is playing well. Spain don't look like they are going to make anything happen. Chile look fresh, vibrant ( stealing the Gordon Ramsay word book) and Spain look bland and under seasoned
I have underestimated Chile as well. |

I had a feeling Spain where going to struggle against Chile, Leaving Xavi out was a shocker for me don't know what Del Bosque was thinking with that move. Same with playing Costa up front he doesn't suit Spain's style at all.
Croatia will win tonight they did well against Brazil, Cameroon aren't as good as they used to be. |

Tonight I'm sad. The world champions Spain, my dear team, has been eliminated from the World Cup.
I must admit that Spain has not lived up to the occasion. Now, it goes to rivers of ink criticizing a team without ideas, physically ill and has proven to be a caricature of himself. All that is true. But I want to take this opportunity to congratulate one of the best generations of players in football history. They have my applause and my recognition they deserve. They have welcomed six years of my life and have made me vibrate with a spectacular game. They have allowed me to live one of the dreams of my childhood: see the Spain team with a star on the shirt, the star of world champions. Chapeau to world champions and two-time European champions. Contrary to what has been said, I think "tiki taka" never will die. He will always be remembered as the style of one of the best teams in football history. Thank you very much to all the players who have been part of this adventure and two football geniuses, Luis Aragonés and Vicente del Bosque.

Cameroon 0 - Croatia 4.
Next Monday, decisive match between Croatia and Mexico. One of the two will accompany Brazil into the knockout stages.
