One can no longer feel safe to carry his/her own personal items in any place, these days.....not even airports anymore. Unless, of course, one has a big butt hole to shove everything up there.
They once tried to steal my phone, just outside Rome's Fiumicino International, while I was waiting for a cab to drive me to the station.
I noticed a few guys were constantly staring at me and my phone (while I was talking to my cousins and smoke a cigarette), and they even followed me for a few miles, while I was pacing back and forth.
What I did was go back inside the Airport, find the nearest bathroom, and hide the phone in my underwear. Then, when I got back outside, I said to them with a devilish grin on my face: "Still looking for my phone? Oh, sorry. But I dropped it in the dumpster and flushed it all away. My bad. You might still find it there. Though I'm not sure the warranty will cover any water damages", and they moved away shitless. No kidding.
