Yeah, between my mod jobs and my downloading from certain tight assed porn sites,
I just have to have me some Firefox. There's just too many good toys that come with it to use anything else. I know there are faster and prettier browsers out there, but I'll go for power over speed any day. So what if the webpage opens 1.02759 seconds slower on FF than [insert browser name here]..? I used IE on the new desktop exactly one time and you know what I downloaded. |

I've been using Opera since Netscape replaced 3 with 4, a long, long, time ago when dial-up was all you could get (unless you worked at a multinational.)
Microflop Internet Exploder was always a dog, security-wise and every otherwise. I don't even bother to try it anymore. Mozilla's various Gorillas don't have anything special to offer me. I'd use Chrome but Google has replaced Microflop as the 'Evil Empire' & become an evil tracker like so many organisations now. So, I'll just continue to use Opera with Ghostery to cover my tracks for the forseeable future. |

windows internet explorer 9 hands down. Superfast browsing, i used mozilla for years until it kept letting me get Malware. Both Mozilla and Google Chrome were found to block 12 percent of Malware, internet explorer 92 percent if you enable the smart screen filter closer to 99%. I loved Mozilla but i got sick of getting Malware, having to do a safe reboot and spend hours getting rid of the malware especially since it is on the rise, so internet explorer 9 is what i now use.

I use Nightly version 17.0a1(latest), Nightly is a firefox build, it has some features that they are testing for firefox's next major updates and they are great. I use Nightly on a PC at home and on a MAC at work.

I like Opera and it was my main web browser for many years until I discovered Adblock plus for Firefox.
I tend to go tab happy so I'm using Chrome in my old laptop now. That laptop's been beaten to death (though it works just fine even after 5 years) but Firefox just eats too much memory. IE is much better than what it used to be. I think it is more than sufficient for checking email and other boring everyday (SFW) tasks.

Dear i like BigButtsz, (for the record so do I) no not at all, no lol, I did in fact have Mal-ware Bytes premium up and windows security essentials the dodgy website was a classical music website. A website i have visited for years in fact. So while i was using Mozilla which in fact i had used for years as soon as i went to the website i was attacked by the Malware on that website. Mozilla is usually good about reporting a website as an attack sight this time it did not. The Malware attached itself to the Mozailla Browser. Mozilla then got stuck i had to disconnect the internet, run a scan in safe mode and get rid of the malware. I then tested going to the same website using internet explorer 9 and guess what it would not let me visit the web page and blocked the malware. No problem. I have used Mozilla for years never any problems until it became a memory hog and until the latest update. When i mentioned my switch to internet explorer it is because Malware is on the rise and i am trying to help other computer users avoid getting malware, trojans etc. I know there is some bias against internet explorer and i too have used chrome, and Mozilla for years in the past but for now internet explorer is more secure. I always use protection when serving the web even when i go to a website that has never had a problem before.

Same here for ie9. I also add a list to my hosts file. I've disabled ALL add-ins other than flash and increased the pop-up blocker to high (Which is something hardly ANYONE does). Safe? Not seen the usual fake crap for a long time but that's probably due to the hosts file. I use Opera for everything else.
It's funny that people haven't used IE9 for years so how do they know it's rubbish? |
