Yes, she has some african ancestry. But to qualify as ebony (in my book), she should at least be darker than someone from the Mediterranean. This skin tone isn't even oak.

She looks like she's from african descent if I had choose one label for her but I think people that aren't biracial tend to want to classify them as being separate from the races they're made from. Or sometimes they want them to choose the one they look more like and that's just based on opinion. I think that if somebody is half black and half white they should be able call themselves both. Very light skinned blacks that aren't biracial can sometimes be lighter then biracial ones so skin color is kind of a bad way to label race. I have friends that are black that have waaay lighter skin then Bethany Benz. I think Alicia Keys has more black blood in her then Bethany, and she's considerably lighter as well. All in all , whether you're black, white, latin,etc people come in different tones.(shrugs)

But when I watch IR scenes (whether they're WMBF or BMWF) it's also because of a certain appeal the contrast between two distinctly different skin tones holds.

Don't get me wrong, Bethany is stunning-looking (in fact, more stunning than most of the "real" ebony or white actresses alike), but she's far to light-skinned to justify the label "ebony" in my book. For the same reason, I don't consider Aurora Jolie - another pretty, mediterranean-looking girl - black (which makes it kinda ridiculous when she gets fucked by guys only a tad lighter than she is and yells "yes, fuck that black ass"). Or why I initially mistook Jake Steed for a latino.

Socially, all of them may be considered black and may also label themselves as such, but that's another matter. Unless, of course, the appeal for a viewer is explicitly derived from the "taboo" as such and ignores the actual skin tone.

On this thread a lot of us have a lighter ebony as well as darker ones as our faves so most of us don't think there's a barometer. I think that's just your personal taste in what kind of porn you watch.
I'm sure if you told a biracial porn star (that was part black) that you don't consider them ebony they'd look at you like "What the hell do you mean I'm not ebony?" lol
