I'm a Bears fan, and seeing Urlacher go is a heart breaker...but.... the team offered him a deal in January that I believe was 2 yr 5.5 million. He turned it down and rolled the dice that they would pay more come FA time. Due to cap issues, they didn't have the space to offer him more than the 1 yr 2 million they did. Now it comes out that the Vikings don't want him unless he will take way less money.

The Bears waited until after negotiations were done, at least on BU's side, to sign Bennett and Bushrod. Those two moves almost guaranteed that BU would have to take the 2 million offer or try FA.

While I feel bad that BU isn't a Bear anymore, I think that the final decision for him to leave was a money decision on his side, not the teams.

You have probably heard by now that Dumervil is a Raven now.
He signed 5 year 35million deal averaging 7.5/year.
In Denver he was gonna get 8 million. But With signing bonus and everything he'll get 12million in Baltimore this coming season. So, i guess that was a major incentive to him.

Personal thoughts: I think Ravens overpaid him, he is not a 3 down player anymore. Ravens are seriously making alot of mistakes which are going to haunt them in coming seasons.

You are so right on this one. Raven way overpaid Joe Flacco as if he is the number 1 QB in the NFL . He's barely in the top 5 (IMO behind Brady, P. Manning, Rodgers, E.Manning) I can see that they wouldn't want to lose him ,but that was the time for Ozzie to bring out those negotiating skills and get a fair price. I see Ravens 9 - 7 this year; no playoffs

Who knows? If the Steelers don't improve their O-line that record might just be enough.

Still, I don't expect a great season ala GB after winning a SB for the Ravens.

Tony "Oh no" Romo signs A 6yr. 108 million(55 mill.guaranteed ) extension ....holy shit I thought Joe blows contract was frakkin' ridiculous..Once again the cowboys continue to lead the league in sheer stupidity.
There is something terribly wrong with Romo being the Highest payed cowboy in Franchise history.

Jerry Jones isn't going to look for a new qb.until he finds a coach that can evaluate talent like Jimmy Johnson did.
Earlier this year During the Combine when J.J. said "due to Tony's Expert mobility the offensive line wasn't really a priority in Dallas" I thought unless they paid him a ton of money he would be gone when his contract was up,then again maybe when the team owner /G.M. Basically says"protecting the Qb isn't a big thing ..let him run for his life" I don't think I would stay no matter how much they payed me.

With these insane contracts going to Qb's when the time comes anybody wanna guess on Arron Rodgers contract numbers? I'll guess somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 year 140 mill with 60-65 mill guaranteed.

That is assuming he doesn't fall on his sword and actually take a more modest contact to end all these absurd qb contracts for the time being.I don't actually believe it will happen ..but it might.
