If you want to put a raw stream into a MP4 container requires some tools (eg mp4box).

I decided yesterday to DL the latest PotPlayer (ver 1.5.29601). It is VERY good! opens any format quickly, seek times lower than any other player (smooth also) with immediate audio/video synch, video is just awesome regardless of format or resolution.

A previous version had problems playing mp4 and would shut down Windows Explorer with a protection error message. This now seems to have been corrected. Barring any unforeseen problems I'll soon return PP to default player & save KMPlayer as a back up.

My default player is Media Player Classic (Mega Pack) and if something doesn't stream or play properly (ex. out of sync audio or corrupted video files), which rarely happens, I use VLC.

I never use(d) anything else because those two play any media format on earth!

I like MPC for its vidcaps,single of whatever

VLC is great-most times for viewing the first file of multiple download - which gives you a pretty good idea of wether the performers have real chemistry without having to waste downloading 6-15 parts to find out...

caps very rarely tell the true story of a scene

Recently I tried the BS Player trying to get sub-titles for an Italian porno - while it played everything I had on my PC it searched it couldnt provide sub-titles for the films in question

A bit of a downer but I'll still keep it for any future foreign films/

From memory MPC is good for sub-titles as well

for me I use BS player for video player & for video I use VLC player for video files

My 2 players are VLC 2.0.1 and WMP.
My favourite videos are Abby Winters. Most of these are RAR files, which only the VLC 2.0.1 will play. Does anyone know of another player that plays RAR files as well as the VLC ? I'm kind of paranoid about VLC removing 2.0.1 from service.
My OS is Windows 7.
