The biggest problem I've seen with USB3.0 is drivers. Most motherboards require two drivers installed for the USB3 chipset. One set to support USB 2.0 and below, and an additional driver for USB3.0.
Hubs typically cause problems, but if you have/need to use a hub, always use a powered model. With USB2, you are limited by the interface (ie: USB speed). Even old IDE and SATA1 drives are faster than USB2. There is no "conversion" when using eSATA. It is merely an external SATA (ie: eSATA) port. |

Yeah!
I just bought and installed my first 3TB hard drive. It is an internal Seagate Barracuda Sata. I installed as a data disk (D) using Windows Disk Manager and the GPT (GUID) format. It only took a few minutes to install. Its working great so far.

I've only ever used Seagate HDDs, and i've never once had an issue with them. That being said, my latest drive is noisier when head parking than my other drives though.

Yes, I have bought about 30 hard drives in the last 5 years - mostly Seagate with no problems so far.

I prefer WD because I've had a few dodgy Seagates.
