How do you edit .cbr/.cbz files?
I download a lot of .cbr/.cbz comic book files. Sometimes these files come with the original advertising and have intro pages inserted by those who scanned and uploaded the comics. I would like to know how to delete these pages.
Any help is gladly appreciated. |

They're just re-named rar & zip files.
Some archivers might even let you extract & save as cbr or cbz without having to mess about with re-naming. Otherwise rename them cbr to rar or cbz to zip, extract the pages, delete the ones you don't want, re archive the remaining pages as rar or zip & change the extension as required (i.e. change rar to cbr or zip to cbz). |

If you use unrar (or similar program) to open a .cbr file, it will give you a folder containing all the images in jpeg format.
If needed, you can then easily rename them and also remove any unnecessary files.

Would the fact that I use coview.exe to view the files change your advice in anyway?

It shouldn't make any difference - all the reader program does is extract the images to a tenporary location & auto-delete them when you're finished.
If you're worried, try editing a copy of the cbr/cbz first & keep the original safe just in case but you shouldn't have any problems. |
