I have used a couple of programs to rip DVD's to my hard drive making VOB files.

Eg DVDDecrypter and Ripit4free and of course there are others

Is there any difference in the quality of the VOB files they create ?

since it's essentially extracting the file(s) from the disc, the resulting VOBs should be identical. Like downloading the same scene from rapidshare and then a depositfiles mirror. Different hosts, but same file, so should be the same on your hard drive. Hope someone will correct if that's wrong.

It's pretty much lossless video files...if you ripped into VOB files, you probably want to encode them to save space. If you want a 1:1 ratio copy of said DVD, just use DVD Fab.

You could also go into the "video" file of your E: drive (or whatever letter is assigned to your CD/DVD drive) using your Windows Explorer, and copy and paste the .vob files. Most of them are about 1gb each, so it may take a while.

Otherwise, DVD Fab is excellent, the few times I've used it.
