Problem with link protected files
I have recently encountered a problem downloading files that use ************. The two threads I have had problems with are Distinctly Obscured's "Fav Lesbian Clips" as well as "Rollo2's New Lesbian Thread" When I click on the link, a new window pops up, presumably to be eventually directed to Rapidshare, but instead I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" window or I occasionally get just a blank window.
I have read of similar problems after Googling this problem, and anti-virus/firewall software is often blamed. I have uninstalled my AV software (AVG free edition), turned off Windows Firewall I have protected mode off on IE 7 and the problem persists. Any suggestions on what settings I may have changed to cause this or could be changed to fix this? |

There are only three common reasons why I've gotten this kind of error. (1) The link is no longer valid, (2) The server is temporarily down, (3) The firewall is preventing me from connecting.
Of course, the only one you can control is #3 - and you already have. |

Here one solution you may not have tried:
Firefox IE is famous for problems (I don't know how the latest one is, I've never used it). Try other browsers, Firefox, Opera and the new Google one - Chrome. See if you have better luck. Fred |

I use both IE7 and Firefox 3 and there are no problems with getting
to the downloadpage with both. And the suggestions are already given, but perhaps also delete your cookies and temp. files, could also, others also had a 'too hard' pop- upblocker settings. I could make my settings ar RS to direct downloads but I dont think it helps you. Rollo |

I deleted all cookies and temporary files and shut off pop-up blocker and still a blank window pops up when click the d/l link on Distinctly Obscured's "Fav Lesbian Clips", however I now seem able to download "Rollo2's New Lesbian Thread" again.

It's just the damndest thing. I had no problem with *******, lix.in or anonym.to in the past, and I mean not much longer than a few weeks ago. I just can't figure out what I have done between then and now. I guess I will try Firefox next and see what happens. Problem solved. Maybe this is what I was supposed to do all along, but didn't think about it until now. Instead of clicking the d/l link, I copied the shortcut and pasted it into the address bar... http://anonym.to/?http://************/53pmzw I deleted the red part of the address and all is groovy now. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. |
