whats makes me frustrated is my dad mr know it all :P, thinks he can get rid of a virus by doing a system restore It'd be more effective pouring water into my tv set.

One thing to not when installing an OS never do a quick format as it will leave virus trace elements behind.

Quick format just removes the metadata and header info without over-writing/deleting the actual data.
