That's probably going to happen. But you know, most of those people who don't purchase a Tesla, are considered 'the poors' and no one like Musk cares about 'the poors'. This is why he had/has no issue, beta testing his shit cars, with inferior tech, on public roads, among unwilling participants (the poors).

Also there's a theory that Musk is also going to use his influence to levy massive tariffs on Chinese EV makers, so even if China floods the market with cheap EVs, the cost will be so high to the consumer, the consumer might as well just buy a fucking Tesla. That's some monopoly shit, right there. Aren't those the same people always talking about a "free market" and "less government"? If this is Musk's plan, then clearly, they want to rig the market, with the help of government. The duplicity is thick...

I'm not stoked about Chinese EVs flooding the market, for a few reasons; Build quality, crash safety regulations and Chinese labor laws, etc. However, if they truly believe what they espouse and proselytize (a free market and less government), then they shouldn't stack the deck in their favor, via tariffs, laws, etc. Don't make better, cheaper cars, just use your friends in high places to kill your competition. Sounds fair...
