OF verification problems

I tried to go legit and was going to subscribe to some accounts on there.

But when it came to adding a payment method I added my credit card on there. For a normal site that would be enough. But not on OF.

I was asked to verify my age. It asked for a government ID so I ended up using my photo driving licence.

Then if 2 18+ ID's weren't enough they then wanted a selfie. That's were I had a problem. Over the last couple of years I've been suffering with breathing issues from Covid and have to wear a mask 24/7 just to breath. I did try taking it off. But being out of breath and struggling to hold the camera still none of the photos passed their AI processing. So I'm stuck.

It seems they want to make it as difficult as possible for fans to buy through their site. I don't know why fans need the masses amount of verification. I can understand it with actual creators.

I have emailed them about the situation, asking if I can upload a photo as I have a couple from before I was ill on my computer. But I'm not holding out much hope.

I did try to go legit guys. But their ID interrogation for the privilege of me to give them money as shut me out.

As anyone else had problems with their verification on the site?

Though I myself would never join OF, it sounds to me I like a scam. I've never heard of any legit site asking for Government ID and photos. You need to get a hold of your Bank asap. Unless a fellow PS member can corroborate this as an OF practice? I would be very wary.

Yeah, I can see them doing that if you were trying to create an OF page to post content, but just to subscribe to someone? That sounds iffy.

I'm from Germany and didn't have to do that either. A credit card was enough. In Germany, only adults get credit cards.

Run the url at urlscan or virustotal

Otherwise, I agree, only payment is required.

Yes , tried to finally sign up but since site wants a copy of driver license and photo to 'verify age' , I get an uneasy feeling .

It's ridiculous.

To say they are a business that is supposed to be helping creators they are hindering potential customers.
