Concerts you wish you could have gone to
Hello.
We,ve all been there...daydreaming of a Concert we weren't able to go to. The reasons being multiple, from not having been born yet to not being able to get time off work... So, I ask you...which concerts you wish you could have gone to? I'll share my list, with a short description of why, for each. 1) Metallica - Seattle 1989 http://youtube.com/watch?v=qjAhgd9K-8o I love Metallica, and I think this moment in histiory, despite the gaping hole left by Cliff Burton's death in '86, shows the band at their absolute peak! So much energy and raw power! Being a huge fan of the album And Justice For All... I also love this concert because of the many tracks from the album played here (Metallica very seldomly play tracks from this album). I was not much more than an infant in 89', so I definitely could not attend. 2) Monsters of Rock 1991 http://youtube.com/watch?v=UgOyXKanKHc Pantera, Metallica, ACDC, Mötley Crüe.....COME ON! 3) Woodstock in geneal (1969) http://youtube.com/watch?v=iUxM...JwbGFuZQ%3D%3D Like half the people born later than the 40s, I too dream of having attended Woodstock. I'm a big fan of the 1960s psychedelic culture, and it would have been a tremendously interesting experience. 4) Orbital - Glastonbury 1994 http://youtube.com/watch?v=pffZ...262137&index=5 Orbital might be my favourite music act, ever! I wish I could have experienced them in the 1990s, but I became a fan later in my adult life. 5) The Chemical Brothers - Woodstock 99 http://youtube.com/watch?v=aKq6TW-EOx4 Despite the controversies around Woodstock 99, I would have loved to attend, being The Chemical Brothers one of my absolute favourites! Black Sabbath - California Jam 1974 http://youtube.com/watch?v=8C4HfERCAuA California in the mid 70s, Sun, Drugs, Black Sabbath! What more could you ask for?!?! 6) Pink Floyd - Pop Deux St. Tropez 1970 http://youtube.com/watch?v=kUukXb5avQU Pink floyd at their absolute peak, right around the release of Atom Heart Mother (My favourite Pink Floyd album). Also the band still being together /Roger Waters notoriously developed a feud with the band and left it.

This one is nowhere near any of the concerts you have discussed.
But here's mine. I had a "previous engagement," that in hindsight I could have rescheduled, and missed a (drumroll) Quarterflash concert. Just imagine, the gorgeous Rindy Ross puckering up those gorgeous lips on her saxophone, so many songs I love. I believe it was their last tour. They perform in Oregon now under a different name, and perform (massive eyeroll) wagon trail music. Circle the wagons boys! What is it, Indians? No, concert time! Facepalm. |
