PC game interruptions

During game play, Windows 7 now occasionally interrupts and shifts to desktop.

Haven't been playing this one for a longer time. Did not happen with same setup years ago.

I already did some research and tried various options to no avail so far.

I don't remember which of the ending updates for Windows 7 caused changes to the power and screen saver options for some Windows 7 devices. In some cases this also caused the desktop to suddenly display when you were running some program which was not in the Windows OS. When this happens simply reset all the power and screen saver options including the screen resolution and it should solve your problem. If this problem still occurs then you should scan your device with Windows 7 for any virus or malware which may also cause the problem. (Usually this can be a root kit or backdoor set in the promiscuous mode.)

Windows 10 is at the end of its life and will not be supported.

After October 14, 2025, Microsoft will no longer provide free software updates from Windows Update, technical assistance, or security fixes for Windows 10. Your PC will still work, but we recommend moving to Windows 11.

Not sure if you can make the leap from 7 to 11. Maybe you have to go to 10, then get 11. Then there's the issue of having the capability to run 11. Lastly, 11 kinda sucks. It's a lot like 10 (a reskin), but with shitty tweaks.

Windows 10 lifecycle will end on October 2025. It is still supported.
But ofc you are right. It's better to upgrade to Windows 11.

But using Windows 7 is like suicide. It's totally open to all viruses, trojans and worms.
