The silent film is regarded as a pioneering science-fiction movie, being among the first feature-length movies of that genre, AND it also featured one of the first human-like (female) robots which would later inspired many other sci-fi films such as the Star Wars saga... C-3PO. Metropolis is now widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential films ever made, ranking 35th in Sight & Sound's 2012 critics' poll. In 2001, the film was inscribed on UNESCO's Memory of the World Register, the first film thus distinguished ! In the film "Metropolis " german actress Brigitte Helm plays the part of MARIA and also the female-robot named "Maschinenmensch" (Machine-Person). Code:
