I had an old co-worker who used to say 'hunky dunky' instead if 'hunky dory'

Guilty myself on this one, for quite a long time actually...
“For all intensive purposes.” “For all intents and purposes.”

"Biting my time"
When you think about it, it sounds kind of strange to say that you're "biting" your time, doesn't it? Well, that's because it is strange—and it doesn't make sense. If you're trying to say that you're waiting for something, then what you're trying to say is that you're biding your time, not biting it. |

You wouldn’t believe how many people will describe themselves as “calm, cool, and collective”. I just want to yell at them, it’s collected! Get it right.

"one bad apple can spoil the barrel" refers to the idea that one corrupt individual can corrupt the entire group, but people have been saying it as if the corruption is isolated and doesn't spread.
"the customer is always right" refers to the customer is always right in what they want to buy, not that workers have to bend over backwards for them. i.e. somebody wants to buy an apple, but you suggest a banana. |

I just recently found out that the expression "blood is thicker than water" is an incomplete quote, the whole thing being "“the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb” - meaning that the bond formed among brothers-in-arms, close friends, etc. is stronger than the bond among siblings/blood relatives. |
