For example, take this upload link: http://megaupload.com/?d=QRXNYJXO. IN the url, swap the word upload for video like this: http://megavideo.com/?d=QRXNYJXO . You will now be able to view a stream of the file originally posted on Megaupload. This is what it looks like when you click that Megavideo link:

I've had one or two that haven't reached my file manager.
I was downloading a few on my laptop over at the Mom in law's house this weekend, and even though the links are good, they never reached my page. Login details were the same as here at my house. I finally gave the Mega Manager another shot last night, and my UL speed is a bit slower than at the site, but nothing major. 85KB = site, 80KB = manager. Still slower than the old RapidUploader (93KB), but since it's free and they don't change how they run things every 20 minutes, I'll let them get by with it. |

I always use the site instead of the file manager. 2 reasons why:
1 files upped in the file manger occasionaly go missing- it's a known problem and has never been fixed. When this happens it can take anywhere from hours to days for them to show up in your account. But they usually get there on their own somehow. MU will assist in you tracking them down but you need to very specific and very patient with the e-mails. 2. I've gotten variable upload speed on the browser, but average is 120kbs as opposed to 65kbs average in the filemanager. Though I did have a couple of mysterious 200MB uploads go through the file manager in about 6 seconds. Showed up in the account intact too- scary! I prefer the consistancy of the site though and do my uploads while away from the computer.

It probably has something to do with the fact I was on another computer, and another IP address. (Might think I'm sharing an account..?) This weekend, I'll try the mega manager on the laptop and see if it does the same thing. But here at the house on the desktop using either the manager or the site, I haven't had that problem. Everyone has gone through every time. As long as people can download them, as I said...no biggie. |

You can use this to protect your files because a file reported for abuse will only have that link removed and not every link that points to that same file. If you upload a file, you'll get a link. Try to upload the file again and you'll get another link after a few seconds pointing to the same file. Post the second one and if it is ever reported, simply use the hashcheck to get a new link into your account without having to upload more than a few kB. Sometimes the archive isn't exactly the same (time stamp changes or something) so this doesn't work 100% of the time, but it is very useful. You can also use this to use a multi-uploader like Qooy along with your MU account. Upload the file to Qooy while choosing MU as one of the hosts, then start the upload to MU (you may have to wait a bit) and it should hashcheck and appear in your account. This lets you have the benefits of multiple hosts and the use of your account at one time. Of course, maybe I shouldn't be mentioning this "secret" on a forum spidered by Google... I'd rather MU not block this feature... |

No that is the whole point of threads like this, de-mystifying the mysteries. Thanks for sharing this. I was able find only scant answers around at the time, but this just makes Mega suddenly even more interesting.

Strange. When i upload from the site it doesn't show me a upload time or the upload speed and after a while i get the message "An error has been occoured please try again"
but the file is completly in my account. BTW I have made 4 points with my file from yesterday. |
