Man, what was that Dynamite. Boring jobber matches out the butt with obvious winners, MJF pointing out the obvious on comms made me wanna switch it off, Excalibur is monotone, no wonder his twatter handle has shut up in it and a botched flaming table spot where Cody very clearly took the brunt of it and nobody called it out, all so he could try and reverse the boos by doing something "cool." One of the worse eps I can recall seeing. Although weirdly everything I watched that night was either boring or glitched in some way and then fail to sleep. Ah, life.

Not sure how I felt about the hour draw. They either had something big planned for the end or were gonna give them time with the placement. Instead they teased the end and delivered emo daddy when we all thought it was Ryback, actually, probably not many thought that lol. I honestly can't help but feel Meltzer is heavily influencing these lengthy matches because he would sit and watch those kind in his youth, plus he loves New Japan and they've collapsed a bit of late. He basically brags having open comms with Khan. Match was pretty good but I wasn't on the edge of my seat. Page just won the darn belt after all.

I think I've said it before, but it's good they have draws once in awhile just to remind people that they can happen. A problem with this one is that Bryan just had that 30min draw back in September.

I think this was the first title match to go the time limit and it almost had to open the show to not give it away. It was like 40 in before the draw idea came into my mind, but they had a good deal of near falls in the end that I wasn't certain of it until Hangman went outside for the final blow inside the last minute.

Overall, it's not bad since Hangman doesn't get hit with a short title reign. The result reaffirms Bryan as possibly the best in-ring and elevates Hangman since he went the hour and was, in theory, seconds away from winning. Although I concede that ending works better story-wise for a face chasing the title than a champion almost retaining.

So the rematch is on the first TBS show, I suspect it'll be fairly long again to try and build the number a bit. But since there's going to be judges, there's no way in hell it'll go the distance again. 40 years ago in some territory it might, but it doesn't work today.

In other news, the seemingly inevitable Kyle O'Reilly debut has happened. Clearly he is with Fish and Cole is stuck between them and the Bucks. Assuming Kenny gets healthy in time, I suspect Revolution in March will be the match between Ex-UE(whatever they eventually call themselves) and The Elite. Cole probably then enters the title picture afterwards.

Some observations.

Did Mercedes get no pop at all? My hearing isn't the clearest but it was like literal empty arena again. The staff in the back placed at ringside would have made more noise. I thought these crowds were considered smart. She deserved better than crickets. What a shame the match kinda sucked. Guess they have crappy chemistry.

Jericho/Ruby run ins with theme music is so fake. I know why they do it but they don't need the music to get the pop. A delayed pop isn't a bad thing and it's obvious that somebody doing a spontaneous run in shouldn't have their theme music perfectly cued up. Why have they taken that from WWE?

And because of that the programmed crowd ruined a serious moment Eddie and Jericho were trying to make. Would any of them honestly sing that shite song anywhere else other than being at an AEW show or a Fozzy gig, 0.5% crossover.

Why is Brandi on TV? She isn't cool no matter how hard she tries. It's almost comedic. She plays it so serious but everyone knows she sucks as a wrestler, she's not a threat.

They're also doing the fake historic spiel, really, first appearance in a building? The "OMG! It's CM Punk!" has expired. I guess when he finally has a match their that'll be historic too. But what about O'Reily? He had his first appearance and match there and was in the main event of the last Dynamite on TNT, why wasn't that historic? Is it because he didn't make it to main roster WWE? That makes him cool though, right? So is Punk still cool?

And is Punk trying to become like Cena? It honestly sounded like a promo Cena would cut.

If you haven't been watching Impact, this is the perfect time to jump in. Unlike AEW and WWE Impact actually knows what they are doing as a company and are hiring the best untapped indie talent. Over the last 2 months they've signed: Lady Frost, Masha Slamovich and "Speedball" Mike Bailey.

I am surprised Impact let Mercedes Martinez slip through their fingers after they pushed her hard by having her win the #1 contender tournament for the KO title and title match against Mickie James. Tony Khan just keeps opening his daddy's wallet every week signing new talent to desperately keep Dynamite's rating over 1M. Well, Mercedes does have one last match in Impact tomorrow against the best women's wrestler out there Deonna Purrazzo.

Why is Pro Wrestling still gender-divided? Even now on TV, you still see Women wrestling still shown as like a separate B-plot on a TV sitcom. When was the last time you saw a male and female wrestler confront each other? Are the major promotions still afraid to pull the trigger on intergender wrestling, or intergender feuds, or giving a female wrestler a shot at a man's title? I'm still hoping for more intergender singles matches? I was also hoping for an intergender Royal Rumble this year? And besides, when was the last time you saw Goldberg had an intergender match? Or even The Undertaker had an intergender match?

Impact does intergender matches all the time. Their tournament for the Digital Media Championship was intergender with Jordynne Grace winning it.

WWE doesn't do intergender, because they can't. They'll lose their toy deal with Mattel, who told them "no man on woman" violence. Also the WWE can't because they'll get called out as hypocrites on their zero tolerance policy on domestic violence. Rich Swann got released from WWE just because he got into an argument with his wife Su Yung in a car. She left the car and Rich didn't want her left in the middle of nowhere forced her to get back into the car.

As for AEW, I don't know. I've heard Tony Khan just doesn't like intergender matches.

I think Tony Schiavone should personally consider doing voice-acting. I think he fits the vulgar, raunchy, sarcastic, narcissistic, asshole type character.
