why was the christmas ep titled "cousin eddie"?? there was no cousin, nor any visiting relatives of any sort. eddie was being quite difficult in the ep -- signs of growing up -- but how's that relate to "cousins"?

is there some literary/film ref i'm missing? i can only think of "cousin vanya" and "(my) cousin vinnie", neither of which are referenced or spoofed in any way shape or form in this ep.

AFAICT. someone wanna tell me how the whole thing was one big cousin vinnie sendup? i'm not seeing it.

turns out "cousin eddie" is an iconic character in the natl lampoon "vacation" movies, including, i assume, CHRISTMAS vacation.

geesh -- i suppose everyone here knew that but me! couldn't some kind soul have given me a quick reply?!

i'm usually good with pop culture, but somehow this whole franchise is a blank. not sure i ever saw any of them.
