And all of the above apps are utter shite, you see they only give the illusion of cleaning I would NEVER use any of the above but just do this.

Go to your file browser, go to internal and select all folders in there and untick the folders you really want to keep like Notifications and Ringtones and then delete all of those folders, if you have any custom settings within certain apps then those settings will vanish, as I know what lurk in my folders it really doesn't bother me

I'll take your word for it, but when my Device Maintenance is running, it says "powered by Cleam Master".

As far as the folder thing goes, I'll pass on that, since I cannot clearly identify what is in which folder, and don't want to chance making things worse.

Quick update.... using a couple apps, my situation has improved somewhat:

AccuBattery - Apparently, via charging (to full every time), I've lost the top 10% off of my battery. Am following their mantra of charging to 80%, thus using up fewer "cycles". Supposedly, battery lasts as long on an 80% charge as a 100% charge.

DS Battery Saver - Puts the phone, and all activities, to sleep when the screen is off. Would rather have a saver where a VPN is set up, as it's more effective.

Also looking into Greenify's "Agressive Doze" feature in place of the battery saver... tried it once, but didn't like its slugishness. Might try it again, tweaking some settings.

UPDATE: Scrapped DS Battery Saver... uses too much RAM when running. Greenify's Aggressive Doze is incompatible with my phone. So I'm using an app called Hibernation Manager...so far so good.

You are trying to save battery by having an app monitor your battery, does anyone else see the irony, that's why I said they are all shit

Yes and no. My aim is to find a battery saver that uses minimal RAM, if possible, to entice the phone into a state of "deep sleep", to save more battery than it uses. I suspect though, I'll have to root the phone to accomplish those goals (one goal is to be able to downclock my CPUs when the phone is asleep... definitely need to root to do that).

Until I'm able to isolate what's causing the battery drain, this is a worthy exchange... temporarily.

EDIT: In limited use thus far, I've almost doubled my battery life on a singe charge.

Have you reset your phone with just the defualt apps, that should be the first thing to do, you need to treat it like a PC like using MSconfig start up

Would rather do that as a last resort. I think my first move in that direction is to talk with an expert to see which system apps can be deleted/disabled.

Man you are making a mountain out of a mole hill , you can disable any app that has disable next to it if it stops something from working then re-enable or restart the phone.

And because you have (in your own words) tried a lot of power saving apps then you most likely have lots of crud leftover from messing about with your phone and the easiest and best thing to do is to reset your phone, just save your contacts etc which is also very easy, then start a fresh.
