I have no idea what is going on but hopefully its simple for someone smarter than me.

My problem is that every time I try to upload I get disconnected from the internet. I am on a gateway laptop, but am connected directly to the modem via cable internet service.

what makes it very odd?

1) I play a good deal of online poker, so I DO spend hours at a time doing that with NO disconnect issues. I can download, browse and play poker for hours on end with no issues. But within 5 minutes of trying to upload something POW quick disconnect and reconnect and nothing can get uploaded. So I don't think its a modem or ISP issue.

2) Browser or filehost doesn't matter. I've tried firefox, IE, and google crome. I've tried DF, RS, and MegaUpload. Same results.

3) I've also run multiple virus and malware scans and cleaned everything up, but the problem persists.

Has anyone else come across this problem?

Any suggestions would be welcome and greatly appreciated. This has been going on for a few weeks now.

Help?!?!?

that really is a strange one, i wish i could help.
have you tried using RSmanager to upload?
have you had no problems using the same laptop in the past? if so have you tried to restore it to a time when all was fine?
is it only file hosters that are giving problems, eg can you still ftp, torrent, up to youtube etc?

I've tried DFuploader, ftp is the same problem but sometimes I can 'resume' when it disconnects. Yes I was able to upload on this laptop before. I am thinking about trying to borrow a friends and hook it up here and see if I can upload anything.

I have not tried to upload to any torrents or youtube however.

if you could try another router it may be an idea, or upgrading the firmware on your router (or if you have done either of the above that may be the issue).
another laptop is a good idea too.

That's right, I had a similar problem last year. I replaced the router and the problem was fixed.
