(Edit: Solved... first time, I used the 'rotate' command. Then dove into Samsung support... re-tried using 'presentation mode', mirroring whatever I have on my my phone, in either portrait or landscape... so, it works! I doff my chapeau to MustangZR1!)

I a Mac user with an iPhone, I use AppleTV to mirror my phone to my TV screen and it works a treat.

I have been told, here on PS, that ROKU is a good alternative for those not using Apple technology.

Yes. Set up was really easy... took about 15 minutes total (including update). Had an issue where I couldn't get the smartphone to cast to the Chromecast, but read where I had to close the power saving mode on my phone first. Rebooted Chromecast and voila!

From my (very) limited experience thus far, most video streaming apps (YouTube, Twitch, Livestream, etc.) can be streamed in its respective app via pressing a Google icon within an app, but Ustream can't (?), so you have to go back to the Google Home app (whcih you're prompted to install during the Chromecast install process), and select the screencast option... let's you stream whatever's on your device, from apps, to videos to everything in between.

Since everything's done "in the cloud", there may be a slight delay in controlling what you're seeing (start/stop/pause), and the "mirroring" feature may not work with every device, but it's doing exactly what I wanted it to do on my J7.

New question, of sorts...

What I'm using Chromecast for in my living room (casting smartphone screen, to play games, and especially, to watch TV on my USTV, UKTV, and Live Streaming Video apps, since I now have a portable video projector, which has several inputs, including HDMI), I'd like to do in my bedroom as well. Obviousy, I'd need a second Chromecast so I don't have to detach/attach/drag/route cables every time, so my question is...

... and if it sounds stupid, it does not give you the right to try and flame me...

... would a second Chromecast, in a different room and on a different TV, act independently (i.e. - pin #s, content if both are on at the same time, etc.)?
