Automate renaming a specific folder

For reasons that I won't get into I need to rename a specific folder in a program sub-directory a couple of times a day. It is really tiresome navigating to the folder, selecting it and then typing in the new name, and then reversing the process to rename the folder to it's original name.

I would like to be able automate this task down to a one or two click operation. A hotkey or possibly double clicking an icon on my desktop would be ideal. What I'm trying to achieve is something like this:

The path to the folder is

C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro13.0\FileIO Plugins\compoundplug

I want to hit a hotkey (or double click a desktop icon) and have it change to this

C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro13.0\FileIO Plugins\compoundplug.disabled

I then want to be able to hit another hotkey or icon to change it back to it's original

C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro13.0\FileIO Plugins\compoundplug

I'm sure there must be a way of doing it, but have no idea where to start.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Just found a way of doing this with VBScript. I've got two .vbs files on my desktop. Double clicking them renames the folder back and forth.
