You encountered an asshole. They come in all shapes and sizes. Trying to pin an individual's actions on anything but their own personal asshole level is pointless and quickly reveals other assholes. We all deal with such a variety of assholes every single day that it amazes me that anyone can have time to be bothered by anything on a general basis. I am so busy hating people individually (said assholes) that I would be exhausted to think entire groups are all assholes together. I suppose that may be easier for some, but where is the fun?

I agree that we must treat people as individuals and judge them on the merits of their character and actions but I also think it is safe to say that some ideologies are more prone to producing and attracting assholes than others.
