![]() Looking to reinstall Microsoft FSX on my laptop, but instead of using the keyboard, I want to get a joystick for better flexibility in actually using much of the program I couldn't use by simply pressing keys on a keyboard. Flying a 'copter by banging a few keys just doesn't cut it with me.
Which joystick do you recommend? Looking to spend as little as possible...I'm seeing good things about the Logitech Extreme 3D Joystick... Also, besides the obvious online suspects (eBay, Amazon), any good retail outlets besides BestBuy to get one? Thanks for your input. |

![]() As far as other retail outlets go, outside of the obvious-Gamestop-you could also try stores like CompUSA, Office Depot & Staples. The former is the most likely to have them but the latter two might as well as they sell a lot of PC stuff. Could also try the warehouse clubs & Walmart or Target, but the clubs are likely a better bet. Most of what you'll see at Walmart & Target are probably controllers that resemble PS3 & Xbox 360 controllers.

![]() I don't know if they still even make it-I did a Yahoo search under shopping (I never-NEVER-Google) and also checked Microsoft's official website and the only MS controllers I found were for the Xbox 360 (correction, they actually were 360 controllers made for Windows). I did find one flightstick on Yahoo, which was the dual-controller setup (one for throttle/speed and one for the flightstick itself) but it was expensive-$159 via a 3rd-party website (not through Amazon).

![]() i think the best and cheapest option would be an xbox 360 controller, just download the driver from mirosoft and use with pretty much any game.
you can buy them new or used from anywhere that sell gaming stuff |

![]() Good thought, but for FSX, I probably would do better with a joystick...

![]() I use a Saitek st290 pro ($20-$25) on my FSX. Has all the bells and whistles I need and it is real time control stick sensitive (like in a real plane or helicopter little adjustments go a long way).

![]() sorry dude, can't help you much.
I still satisfied with a PS2 game pad + a USB-PS converter. |

![]() I use the Thrustmaster T.Flight Stick X.
Haven't had any problems with it, but I think the biggest problem would be availability. And it's pretty simple to use, no software needed. Haven't seen one of these in the stores in ages! |
