They install crap all over the place and when you uninstall it,it hurts other programs!!
I downloaded and installed this WORD DOC PROGRAM so I could read .doc and .docx files. (I dont have wordpad) When I uninstalled it,it removed the file MSXML3.DLL and my browser uses that file to do some XML tasks......... I dunno what version of this file I had on here... Many different versions!!!!!! I have IE6 SP1 .. Does anyone know what MSXML3.DLL file is usually on 98se machines that have SP1?? (What version of it) Thanx guys.. |

MSXML3.DLL is on Windows 98SE and is installed at C:\WINDOWS\System from the Windows CD. If you're not sure how to extract the driver from the Windows CD you can also download this driver online from sites that provide drivers. Since you were using this driver as a browser plugin you will also have to configure your browser plugin for this driver. I would suggest that you first make sure that this driver is still at its orginal location. If it is there then simply activate it in the Tools section of IE6.

Thank you my friend..... I tried using SFC but that file isnt in the Win98 folder...... (msxml.dll is but not 3) I guess I could try re-installing my browser, that might work if the file came with that..... I also have a deleted file recover program...... I guess I could try that as I havent defragged since the file was deleted its probably still on the disk where it was deleted.... |

I believe that there are a total of 4 related drivers 3 with "3" and 2 have a letter following it. Just find the XML plugin for IE6, download and install that. There were several plugins for IE6 that were on on the last release of the WIN98SE CD. If you Google "XML plugin for IE6 WIN98" you should be able to find it.

Its 1.11 Megs but I dont think its the 98se version of the file.. This File version is 8.50.2162.0 The Description is MSXML 3.0 SP 5 This one WORKS but I notice its slightly slower (A tinsy bit) I thiink the one for 98se is under 1 Meg.. (Still SP5 though but 98se version of it) |

Why are you using Win 98? You know that Windows 10 is actually free to use?
Windows 98 is no longer supported and high vulnerable too all sorts of attacks and viruses and trojans. It's an open door for hacker and viruses.

Hi Vitamin how are ya??
Thank you for your reply......... I have it locked down pretty good...... Win10 has spam ads all over it and is in my opinion not secure., Meaning everything one does is tracked and logged........ Im grateful to have what I have..... Yes some stuff I cant do but its a trade off...... I dont wanna be tracked and I wanna do what I wanna do ON MY COMPUTER... (Use flash, java, etc) I started on Windows with Win95B and it was OK but then I got 98se and I loved it ever since |

Win10 is way more secure than 98, and is still being patched, so you don't need to "lock it down pretty good".
But you do you. |
