All quiet on the western front (2002)

Brutally raw film, showing a perspective we don't see often (The German side of the war).
A beautifully crafted depiction of how the war must have felt like for a young german between 1917 and 1918.
From the indoctrination, to the awful life condition in the trenches, to the terrifying battles.
I strongly suggest to watch the film in its original language (German) with subtitles; you'll be incredibly immersed.

So far the best depitcion of WWI I have seen.

John Wayne is leading a cattle drive and his drovers quit. He hires a bunch of school boys and they become men along the way.

Boulevard (2014) with the great late Robin Williams

For the 10th anniversary of Robin Williams passing, I was suggested to watch this one. And it didn't disappoint.

Robin Williams stars in this awesome Drama movie that deals with homosexuality and coming out, while at the same time being married for many years to a woman.
It also deals with age gap relationships, the problem and fear of being seeing as "bad" by your co-workers and bosses (because of your sexuality), and the struggles of living happily after finally coming out.

As always, with almost all Robin Williams serious roles, this one was no exception.
He delivered a very powerful and emotional performance, akin to "Good Will Hunting". And, knowing this was his very last movie before passing away, it kinda made me appreciate it even more, even though it was a very short movie (only 80 minutes).
