Pedestrian killed on New Year's Eve

A Panama City Beach woman was killed Thursday night when she tried to cross Front Beach Road at about 8:20 p.m., the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
Amanda Jensen, 53, was traveling south and was attempting to cross Front Beach road near 2nd Street when she was struck by a 2001 four door Hundai being driven by 25-year-old Gregory A. Lowe of Fort Walton Beach, investigators wrote. Lowe and his passenger, Tiffany Lowe, 26, suffered minor injuries in the incident, officials said. Jensen was pronounced dead at the scene.
Charges in the case are pending further investigation, officials said in a news release.

Amanda Margaret "Mandy" Jensen, 53, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, in Panama City Beach, Fla.
She was born Dec. 22, 1956, in Andalusia, Ala.
Adventurous and free-spirited, Mandy had a passion for trying new things. Her artistry and creativity were revealed in her writing, music, her home decor, designing and making jewelry and clothes. She loved cooking, flower gardening and creating an atmosphere of comfort and welcome in her home.
Mandy had an overwhelming love for her family, friends and animals, and a compassionate and generous heart. Her compassion extended to family, friends and people who were in need. Mandy was especially known for her gift of "healing hands" therapy, which provided pain relief to so many. Her bright light will shine forever in our hearts.
Survivors include her husband, Derrick Jensen; son, Davis Jensen; mother, Margaret Shelley; father, Joe Breck Gantt and wife, Anne; sister, Gretchen Franco; niece, Alexis Franco; and many cousins and friends.
