Golden Oldies
The 'Summer of Love' (1967) was the start of my musical appreciation.
I'd saved up my wages from my paper round, bought the world's best ever debut album and rushed home to play it on my Dad's stereogram. Track 1, side 1 blasted out: |

Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin
I was'nt alowed to listen to this kind of music at home at 12 year old, so when I could buy the vinyl I played it loud when I was 18 (lol) |

A little Gary Puckett & The Union Gap
and Tom Jones who always reminds me of the movie Mars Attacks! |

Back to the 60s again.
In the early 70s I needed extra cash to buy my dream motorcycle (of which more later) and started doing some evening bar work. I worked in a very civilised place where lots of conversations would be going on. At 'chucking out' time it could be one heck of a job to get the regulars to finish their debates and leave so I could lock up and go home. This very aptly titled track soon got them out - Messrs Plant, Page, Jones and Bonham at full throttle and with the volume turned up to 11 :D Led Zeppelin - Communication Breakdown |

Tom Jones would be the ultimate in cheesy, but he: A. Can actually sing his ass off and B. Has no problem making fun of himself. |

The man sure has a great set of pipes, and has performed with many legendary artists, such as Stevie Wonder, Jerry Lee Lewis and many more. Here he is in 1969 with the amazing Janis Joplin: Even today, aged 77, Sir Tom has a showstopping voice: |
The XM satellite radio in my car is stuck on Channel 8, the 80's station.
Don't anyone who gets in my car even try to change it. |

Perry Como - Hot Diggity (1954)
I took out the "s" from the https, but I got no picture. I need a new browser. Opera has it's strengths and weaknesses. YouTube is a weak point in Opera, the url is obscured. mod note: I fixed it for you. |

I thought they had forgot about one of the greatest voices of all time until I saw one posted above.
A Roy Orbison Doubleheader Roy Orbison - Running Scared Roy Orbison & K D Lang - Crying |

Something from the 90s.
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana "I want everyone in this room to know that Courtney Love, the leader of the sensational pop group Hole, is the best fuck in the world!" Live British TV show 'The Word', 1991. |

I mentioned my dream motor bike earlier and hope you'll forgive my indulgence. I bought the bike in 1973 and still have her. The sound she makes is the equal of any Hendrix/Knopfler/Gilmour guitar solo to my ears.
From the same year and with an intro and some interruptions from an identical bike: Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird Or without interruptions if you prefer :) |
